Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We use them, and similar local storage, to make the service work and to remember your choices between visits.

These keep you signed in, keep your session secure, and let the app function. The service cannot work properly without them, so they are not optional while you use it.

We also remember low-risk preferences, such as your light or dark theme and, during a debate, the credential that lets you return to your seat if you close the tab. This stays in your browser and is not used to track you across other sites.

When you use the signed-in product, we collect usage analytics and may record how the product's pages are used in your session (which screens you visit and interact with) to find and fix problems. This data is processed by our analytics provider, listed on the subprocessors page, and is tied to your account. It is about your use of Shadow Judge itself — we do not track you across other sites. Debate audio and video are never part of analytics data.

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block the essential ones, parts of the service, including signing in, may stop working.
